Artistic Adventures with the
1913 Buffalo Nickel

Our resident artist, Philip Alexander, managed to purchase a georgous, antique, buffalo nickel on eBay. He found that coin from 1913 to be in pristine condition after 91 years. It was only natural for him to have a shot at reproducing the images from each side using his straight-line drawing technique. Note the results below.

Buffalo Nickel - Version 1

Once Phil had created the final images from the coin, he chose to experiment with a variety of related image combinations using his sophisticated computer image modification capabilities and skills. His first result is shown above as Version 1. You will find further modifications on the next few pages of this exhibit.
