A flight of Gloster Meteor F-3's......

During the early '60's, "Skip" Abbott and I would fly our F-4's out of Eglin AFB to intercept and escort the Tu-95 Bears on their Moscow-Havana routes. Most of the time we'd just take a few souvenir photos of each other's planes and then break off contact, after assuring the Russians that we could
find 'em any time we wanted.....

This is just before we broke off contact with the Bear....
that's Skip's F-4 below and to the left.
