Biographical Notes re
The Bill Sutton Story

Page 3 of 6 pages

When I was able to do a little work, I contacted a friend who owned a small struggling nine hole golf course in New Jersey who needed help. I worked on his cars for a season and suggested he upgrade his fleet of cars and make some changes on the course. He agreed with my ideas and I made one more sale of 26 cars. I made a sizable profit on the sale and increased his annual income by $20,000. The new cars required very little maintenance, allowing time for other improvements. My friend put me to work mowing the fairways and greens for a couple of seasons. This helped me get in shape physically, and then I decided it was time to hang it up.

Working two jobs for seventeen years was difficult and it was difficult for Barbara to run the house, help me with the accounting and tax end of the business, and work a full time job. It didn’t leave much leisure time but in the end it permitted us to put all three children through college and provide a modest retirement fund to add to our pensions. Fortunitly, we are both double dippers which should allow us to enjoy our retirement years.

My dear wife continues to work as a confidential secretary to the Superintendent of Schools in Port Jervis, has 34 years of service, and claims she will never retire. God Bless her for such dedication;we make a good team.

Now that I’m retired, I am able to take on some of the housework to lighten the load for her and make life a little easirer. This gives us time to take vacations, travel and spoil the grandchildren. I spend considerable time in shooting competitions or working in the shop on many hobbies which I will share with you if I haven’t bored you too much.

walking stick/wood sculptor creations.

See more of his work, below.

As you will note, on the left, Bill doesn’t spend all of his time weilding his woodcarving knife.

There are three more pages full of samples of beautiful works of art by the hands of Bill Sutton that follow. You will be richly rewarded if you take time from your busy life to review them. We know he gave the same dedicated skill and attention to every job assignment he was given to keep the 91st SRS RB-29s ready to perform their difficult
and hazerdous tasks during the Korean War.
Thank you Bill!
