The term Aperture means the size of the opening of the lens.
Note how the
depth of field increases as the lens moves
from full open to nearly closed.

Note how the depth of field increases as the Focus Distance
gets further and further away from you, the photographer.

Note how the Focal Length increases as you move from
a telephoto lens on down to the wide angle lens
setting
, even though the focal length
remains unchanged.
