Smokey was a shoot-down as an AC on a B-17, spending time in a PW camp during WW II.

The Officers 2 story barracks

burned to the ground around

27 November 1950.

Some crews returned

from 12 hour missions

to learn they were

completely burned out

Christmas presents

scheduled to be shipped

home and

personal belongings

were destroyed.
