[The unit sailed for Europe on 27 October 1917 and, after passing through English ports, arrived at LeHarve on 13 November 1917. After moves to various French cities, the squadron reached Gondreville on 24 May 19l8. During its earliest months in France, the 91st Aero Squadron (Observation) engaged in training. They sent a number of their mechanics to the Salmson airplane motor factory for instruction to overcome mechanical and technical
difficulties impending their operations.]
