| For Lt. Romney (R) the site of the incident had great significance; He was born in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, and he was a graduate of East High School in Salt Lake City. He was a 1st Lt. copilot on an RB-29 crew of the 23rd Strategic Reconnaissance Squadron at Mountain Home, Idaho.
1st Lt. Wentworth Collins (L) was a pilot on the permanent staff of the Wendover Gunnery and Bombing Range. His home was Chicago, Illinois. |
